The F Word is FEMINISM! Let’s hear it from the painted mouth of Fauxnique, the lady drag queen and dancing, singing raconteuse. A frank fabulist whose Fosse-lized focus and forceful frame forge fanciful factual fictions, Fauxnique’s fashionably fierce form of feminism is filled with f***ing fantastic feats of hi-femme frippery.  See why she broke through the glass ceiling of the male-dominated world of drag to become a queen among queens. A look at Feminism through the lens of Drag Cabaret and vice/versa.

Fauxnique made herstory as the first cis-woman to win a major drag pageant and has performed in an amazing variety of venues and contexts nationally and internationally, including New Museum, Judson Church, Sid Gold’s and the Stonewall in New York; Afterglow Festival in Provincetown; Stud Bar, City Hall, and de Young Museum in San Francisco; and in New Orleans, Seattle, London, Reykjavik, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Rome, Catania and Zürich. She created space for kids to dress drag queens at a major museum, performed vocals and starred in the beloved video for the dance track ‘Lipstique’ by Silencefiction, played the DIRT (originated by Justin Bond) in Taylor Mac’s Lily’s Revenge at Magic Theater and recently Eurydike/Ismene in Anne Carson’s ANTIGONICK at Ashby Stage.

Praise for Fauxnique

‘…her revelatory and inspirational show deploys drag, pro athlete caliber dance, and first-person dialogue to mine diamond truths about the relationship between women and gay men. It’s on a par with the 1990 film version of Sandra Bernhard’s Without You I’m Nothing.’ – SF Bay Guardian

‘artfully grapples with glamour, artifice, ballet…’ Time Out London

‘amazingly skillful performance’ – SF Chronicle

‘In all my years of watching performers and singers and musicians, I must say that Fauxnique is truly one of my favorite stylists and masters of the art of performance and quite frankly, I do not remember having so much fun or respect for a performer in quite some time. (And this is coming from someone who usually hates everything!!).’
